On Saturday May 29, 2021 from 1:30 p.m. (Joburg/Paris time), the South Africa-based publication TROPICS MAGAZINE is hosting an unprecedented digital event entitled “African DOers Business Day” to commemorate Africa Month, reveal its annual ranking #AfricanDOers powerlist 2021 to the public and mark the start of Season 2 of its weekly digital show “African DOers Live Talks” on Facebook and Youtube.
TROPICS MEDIA GROUP – Johannesburg, SOUTH AFRICA (May 20, 2021) – Initially launched during Africa Month (May 2016) by TROPICS MAGAZINE, the prestigious #AfricanDOers powerlist honours the sons and daughters of the African continent from all walks of life. Every year, TROPICS MAGAZINE recognizes the contributions of the continent’s most influential leaders who are shaping the future of Africa, through an annual ranking that puts in the spotlight prominent figures of Afro-optimism.
Every year, TROPICS MAGAZINE takes advantage of Africa Month 2021 to unveil the biggest powerlist of all time: 500 success stories celebrating thought-leaders, business and social elites, trendsetters, and innovators excelling in several fields of activity and whose job it is to position Africa as a destination for leading innovations, talents and excellence.
In the context of the African Continental Free Trade Area, the forthcoming digital event “African DOers Business Day” will showcase a hundred profiles of Afro-descendants with remarkable backgrounds and will celebrate their commitment to rebuild Africa despite the Covid-19 pandemic. The event will include numerous roundtables with top leading personalities, entrepreneurs, academicians as well as architects of a positive Pan-African image.
A leading global audience made up of socio-cultural actors, academics, decision-makers and the media is expected on the podium of this exceptional and bilingual event (French-speaking and English-speaking) under the following theme: “Africa Day, a historic opportunity to reinvent Africa’s development ”.
The Laureates of the 2021 “African DOers » powerlist will then be invited back to feature on the weekly African DOers Live Talks (Season 2) livestreamed on Facebook and Youtube. The show is co-produced by five pan-African newsrooms, namely: Kongo Kafe in Belgium, AfriCulturelle in Senegal, aFreeKam in Belgium and Kamita Magazine in France.
